Why I started this

Good businesses, invisible online

I spent years in IT support — the job where people bring you a problem they've already given up on and expect you to make it make sense. That's most of what this work is, too. A local business owner knows something is off, doesn't know what, and doesn't have time to go find out.

I started DTCSolutions because I kept noticing the same thing about plumbing companies I respected: the work was good, the customers were loyal, and the online presence was five years behind. A Google profile filled out once and never touched. A website with a phone number and nothing else. Hundreds of great reviews on one platform and almost none where it counted. Real businesses, quietly losing customers to competitors who weren't better — just easier to find.

Then AI search started changing the same equation again. People are asking ChatGPT and Perplexity who to call instead of scrolling through search results, and the businesses that show up in those answers are the ones with a complete, consistent, well-reviewed presence online. Most local businesses have never checked whether they're in there. Most of them aren't.

I settled on plumbing because the pattern repeats. Urgent customers, high-value jobs, and a phone that has to get answered — which means the cost of every leak is easy to see and easy to add up. Fix the same six things for the tenth plumbing company and you get faster and better at it. That's worth more to you than a generalist who's seen your problem once.

That's the gap I work in. It isn't glamorous — it's mostly filling in fields, chasing down inconsistencies, building review habits, and fixing the parts of a website that stop a customer from reaching you. But it's the difference between being found and being skipped.
